In my opinion, books are the best accessory.
Death by Toilet Paper by Donna Gephart – Realistic Fiction, 5th grade and up – It takes a lot for me to concentrate lately enough to read a book all the way from beginning to end without stopping. This book demanded me to do so. Wonderful book that draws you in and makes you care for every character. Donna Gephart is one of those authors who puts her characters through one trial after another. I loved getting to know Benjamin who took risks by entering writing contests, find out his family is going to be kicked out of their apartment if they don’t get some money. His dad died a year before and his mom is struggling to follow through on the hope of passing her fourth CPA exam. So much responsibility and weight is on Benjamin’s shoulders. Love how this touching story adds in elements with special effects makeup, Yiddish, bullying, and many more. Highly recommended book!
I recently read a blog post that accompanied the main character’s best friend’s obsession with creating good special effects makeup, thought it should be shared:
