The Styling Librarian

In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Styling Librarian Saturday Book Share Fortune Falls

”Pull up a chair, it’s a Saturday Book Share”.

Here’s to celebrating books that strike my fancy every week!

Fortune Falls by Jenny Goebel

Release Date – January 6th, 2016.

What is your fate? Are you destined to experience life in one specific way? What if there were people who were absolutely lucky to the point of being magical? And others who were completely unlucky? This book explores this fascinating idea- luck- how will it shape your future? Really enjoyed reading this story.
Favorite line: “What if he could sail through life without worrying that doom lay around each and every corner? What would that even feel like?”

Goodreads Summary: “Welcome to Fortune Falls, a magical town where superstitions are real. Four-leaf clovers really do bring good fortune, and owning a rabbit’s foot is the secret to success.
However, there aren’t enough charms in the universe to help Sadie Bleeker. She can’t pass a ladder without walking under it, and black cats won’t leave her alone.
That’s because Sadie is an Unlucky. And things will only get worse as she gets older, which is why Unluckies are sent away at age twelve to protect those around them.
Sadie can’t stand the thought of leaving home, so she and her friend, Cooper, devise a plan to reverse her bad luck. But when their scheme accidentally results in a broken mirror, the situation turns dire. Because for Sadie, seven years bad luck isn’t an inconvenience-it’s practically a death sentence.
Can a girl who’s never so much as found a single lucky penny change her fortune? Or will she be forced to celebrate her twelfth birthday by saying farewell to everyone she loves?”

About Pull up a chair, it’s a Saturday Book Share: I’ve had many books I review that I just want to feature. Simple and easy, celebrate a new book encounter. So that’s what Saturday Book Share is about for me, celebrating books! Perhaps some days I’ll share the book with a short reading of a portion. Or perhaps other days I’ll just share a glimpse of the book.

I haven’t heard of this book, Debbie, and oh, how my grandfather would have loved the story. He was so superstitious, so I grew up learning all about luck and what “not” to do, etc. I still look for four leaf clovers, and never open an umbrella in the house! Thanks, will note this on my TBR list.
