In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Styling Librarian Saturday Book Share Birthday Triplets

”Pull up a chair, it’s a Saturday Book Share”.

Here’s to celebrating books that strike my fancy every week!

Pop!Pop!POP!Birthday Triplets – Granny Rosie’s Amazing Magical Day by Kelly Tooman, illustrated by Lynn Tooman-Cser – When making a magical recipe a terrible mistake happens and the recipe book falls into the mix! However will this be resolved? Will there be a birthday celebration? The birthday triplets are introduced and life won’t be the same again. Page26-3Loved the illustrations for the triplets and their characters, happy, supportive, and positive characters who encourage you to be your best.
Page15-1Lighthearted story packed with rhymes and wonderful pictures… this will be a fast favorite birthday story, bedtime story and more. I see this as a book many children would request to have read over and over. Additionally, since there are lovely illustrations that pack in many details and interesting characters, I know many children will retell the story to themselves turning pages and pointing out different details each time.  candibubbleI personally enjoyed reading and reading this story and closely looking at all the beautiful illustrations as well. There are two things that really popped into my mind when I read this book: 1. Enid Blyton- the writing style and storyline reminded me of her books. 2. Rainbow Brite- tv show I watched when I was young, the illustrations threw me back to those shows. Didn’t mind those memories at all!

Author Background: “This was never about just writing a book; the goal was to create characters that are beautiful and timeless and respond to a culture that is losing its innocence. Candi, Cookie, and Coco celebrate kindness, bravery, and being your best. Their role is to bring surprise parties to those who are alone and sad on their birthdays…teaching empathy. There is more about the girls on the website. The first book lays the foundation for the future books (the introduction of magical inventor Granny Rosie, the Amazing Magnificent Magical Adventure Factory, and of course, Candi, Cookie, and Coco Birthday! In each of the subsequent stories, the Birthday Triplets will travel into one of Granny Rosie’s magical adventures to find that certain someone alone on their birthday. The second book, The Birthday Triplets and The Great Pony Race Adventure, will be out summer 2016. “

About Pull up a chair, it’s a Saturday Book Share: I’ve had many books I review that I just want to feature. Simple and easy, celebrate a new book encounter. So that’s what Saturday Book Share is about for me, celebrating books! Perhaps some days I’ll share the book with a short reading of a portion. Or perhaps other days I’ll just share a glimpse of the book.
