The Styling Librarian

In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Styling Librarian: Special Book Feature: Interstellar Cinderella

Every once in a while a special book comes my way and I want to celebrate it… here’s one I couldn’t resist featuring:

Interstellar Cinderella by Deborah Underwood, illustrated by Meg Hunt – This now is my favorite book of the year! Beautiful illustrations. Hooray for a female lead character who thinks for herself, breaks gender barriers, and changes the traditional fairy tale ending in a powerful way.

Goodreads Summary: “Once upon a planetoid,
amid her tools and sprockets,
a girl named Cinderella dreamed
of fixing fancy rockets.

With a little help from her fairy godrobot, Cinderella is going to the ball–but when the prince’s ship has mechanical trouble, someone will have to zoom to the rescue! Readers will thank their lucky stars for this irrepressible fairy tale retelling, its independent heroine, and its stellar happy ending.”

Agree. Read over the summer and REALLY LIKED IT. Tweeted with the author, too. Goes hand in hand with the Lunar Chronicles.
