In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Styling Librarian Saturday Book Share Dory Fantasmagory

”Pull up a chair, it’s a Saturday Book Share”.

Here’s to celebrating books that strike my fancy every week!

Dory Fantasmagory by Abby Hanlon – Realistic Fiction – 2nd grade and up – Ready to laugh? Ready to roll your eyes? Ready to expand your imagination? Prepare yourself for…. DORY! What a riot this little character is… with her relentless ideas, humor, and wild imagination. I laughed through every minute of this book. Especially appreciated her frustrations over the fact that her older brother and sister refuse to play with her. I appreciate all the different ideas and creative solutions she comes up with to entertain herself. I loved this character. I know so many students will connect with Dory and enjoy this book. I know many have compared Dory to Ramona Quimby and I agree, Ramona is a little sister who can be annoying…. but Dory’s imagination makes her a stand-out, original well worth the read. Highly recommended!
*I know the sequel was just released in 7/15, looking forward to reading it!

Goodreads Summary: “As the youngest in her family, Dory really wants attention, and more than anything she wants her brother and sister to play with her. But she’s too much of a baby for them, so she’s left to her own devices—including her wild imagination and untiring energy. Her siblings may roll their eyes at her childish games, but Dory has lots of things to do: outsmarting the monsters all over the house, escaping from prison (aka time-out), and exacting revenge on her sister’s favorite doll. And when they really need her, daring Dory will prove her bravery, and finally get exactly what she has been looking for.”

About Pull up a chair, it’s a Saturday Book Share: I’ve had many books I review that I just want to feature. Simple and easy, celebrate a new book encounter. So that’s what Saturday Book Share is about for me, celebrating books! Perhaps some days I’ll share the book with a short reading of a portion. Or perhaps other days I’ll just share a glimpse of the book.
