In my opinion, books are the best accessory.
Goodbye Hong Kong. Hello Portland, Oregon!
We moved home on July 9th. This was a few days short of us living in Hong Kong for 3 years. What a lucky experience we’ve had as a family and what amazing opportunities we’ve had with this life abroad. Wow. So grateful.
It is wonderful to be home. It is so good to be living close to family. To have a house. To have a yard. To have neighbors who aren’t right on top of you or next to you. To not live down the hall from a hotel. To have some down time as well. To avoid stairs and elevators. To have a dishwasher. To have a properly working washer and dryer. To have a car to drive around in. So grateful.
We’ve been enjoying family time, visiting time, and more… relaxing as well. I was thoroughly distracted by unpacking the first few days but now our house feels like a home again. Wonderful to return to a place you’re familiar with. There are little amusing things you remember while adjusting to the home and overall it is comforting to be back.
Visiting favorite restaurants and exploring new ones is always a bonus. Also just being able to pick up the phone and call someone is a bonus as well. Sure, there are frustrations with moving home like setting up internet. Still astounded that it takes 2.5 weeks to activate Wifi in our home. A bit limiting. Keeps us balance I suppose.
Work is coming up as are various appointments as we adjust to Oregon.
Here’s a glimpse of life adjusting back to Oregon…
