In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Styling Librarian Special Book Share Monster Needs Your Vote

Here’s to celebrating books that strike my fancy every week!

Monster Needs Your Vote by Paul Czajak and Wendy Grieb – Enjoyed this picture book quite a bit. Appreciated the idea of an innocent monster who thinks, why not, I want to run for president. Now, what he finds to take a stand about is absolutely wonderful as well. Thought it was a wonderful way to introduce what happens on a campaign, how voting for a president works… I thought that it would be fun to share this book before a class representative election. After reading the book, you could lead a discussion on what students care about, what they would want to take a stand to speak up about. This book would be quite good also when introducing the concept of taking action with a group of students. Do they want to make their school a green school? Take action. Do they want to find a way to help those less fortunate than them? Take action.

Fun, entertaining, rhyming picture book sure to entertain, educate and enrich children’s learning experiences.

Goodreads Summary: “Election season is here and Monster is ready to vote! But why cast your ballot when you can run for president instead? With speeches, debates, and a soapbox or two, Monster’s newest tale is a campaign encouraging kids to take a stand and fight for what they believe in.”

There’s a nice classroom kit available for this one. Since I don’t normally review picture books, it was helpful to have your take on this. Thanks!
