The Styling Librarian

In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Styling Librarian: Special Book Share – Honey

Honey by Sarah Weeks– Release date- Jan. 27th, 2015- Realistic Fiction, 3rd grade and up – Loved this book.  Have you ever felt like the dog you have dreamed about you before you adopted/found him/her? I loved reading about Mo, a dog, who was certain that he will meet a girl someday that will change everything for him. Also, Melody is a character that you quickly are pulled in and care about as she busily digs up dandelion plants by their roots to earn money to help out her sweet tooth. She also has many misunderstandings and is quite inquisitive when she thinks that her dad is keeping a big secret from her. This is a touching book about loss, growth, small communities, tolerance, and love. Wonderful story to enjoy. I think it would also be a fun read aloud!

Book Talk: What would you do when you’ve always just had your father but one day you find out he has a secret? Would you try to find out what the secret was? Have you ever felt like the dog you have dreamed about you before you adopted/found him/her? Read about Melody and Mo and their journey in a small town…

Goodreads Summary: “For a girl like Melody and a dog like Mo, life can be both sticky and sweet. Melody has lived in Royal, Indiana, for as long as she can remember. It’s been just her and her father, and she’s been okay with that. But then she overhears him calling someone Honey — and suddenly it feels like everyone in Royal has a secret. It’s up to Melody and her best friend, Nick, to piece together the clues and discover why Honey is being hidden.
Meanwhile, a dog named Mo is new to Royal. He doesn’t remember much from when he was a puppy . . . but he keeps having dreams of a girl he is bound to meet someday. This girl, he’s sure, will change everything.”

Thanks for sharing! I have to admit I didn’t read your whole post, though, as I really want to read this one soon and SPOILERS. 😉

I really liked this book! I was lucky enough to pick up an ARC at NCTE this fall – PIE is one of my favorites so I was happy to see Sarah Weeks’ latest.
