In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Belches Burps and Farts by Artie Bennett – I heard from Artie Bennett about his newest book and I couldn’t wait to have a look! I loved his other books and shared them on the blog, had a feeling this new one would also provide great kid appeal and impart knowledge simultaneously.

So, here are my thoughts about the book:
The wonderful thing about this book is that it will lead children to wanting to learn more… seriously. You tell children that fish fart to communicate, they’ll want to look up and find out more about farting fish. You add in rhyming text to your book? Kids will love it and want to have the book reread over and over…. while subtly adding in fascinating facts to those rhymes. I know that kids will love this book, highly recommended.

About the book from the jacket:

Every living person farts:

Nincompoops and those with smarts!

Belches, burps, and farts. We all do it. So isn’t it time we learned about those often awkward, sometimes comical sound effects . . . before our next blast-off?!

Ever wondered which animal out-farts the rest? Or if there are countries where belching isn’t considered rude? Or the average number of farts we release per day? Wonder no more! It’s all here—and much, much more!

Artie Bennett, who was hailed as “the Dr. Seuss of your caboose” for his much-praised, unique picture books, The Butt Book and Poopendous!, now blows the lid off of that symphony of sounds our bodies produce. With side-splitting verses that convey fascinating facts leavened with wordplay and antic humor, Artie has crafted a madcap manual on intestinal gas, perfectly complemented by the hilarious illustrations of superb illustrator Pranas Naujokaitis. There is even a final fact sheet for those craving more about this “explosive” subject.

It’s a book that will have kids belching their approval!

BIO:

Artie Bennett is the highly acclaimed author of The Butt Book, Poopendous!, and Peter Panda Melts Down! His books have been lavished with praise, with Poopendous! picking up a Cybils Award Nomination for Best Nonfiction Picture Book. The Huffington Post has declared: “It appears there is no topic Mr. Bennett can’t make funny and educational.”
The Show Me Librarian says: “Bennett’s use of rhyme is excellent; his stanzas flow and exude joviality in a manner that few writers since Dr. Seuss have truly mastered. Simply put, these books are a joy. Even better for teachers, librarians, and caregivers: they inform as well as entertain. I’m willing to bet these books will be a hit with almost any crowd you encounter.”
Like most of us, Artie admits to experiencing the occasional bout of flatulence. But instead of bemoaning his fate, he used the opportunity to create Belches, Burps, and Farts—Oh My!, whose title contains a tribute to his all-time favorite film, The Wizard of Oz.
