In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Hong Kong Update Y3Wk5 US Edition 5

Our wonderful family from Arizona, my husband’s brother and sister-in-law and their two gorgeous girls flew in from Arizona for a visit and we had so much fun visiting with them. We enjoyed meeting up initially at Mt. St. Helen’s visitor center and loved the views there. They are an active family that always finds incredible places to visit.

Day 1: Mt. St. Helens! Loved visiting here. It has been a long time… We were hoping to go through the Ape Caves but unfortunately, the traffic delayed our family from getting there at a reasonable time so instead we visited the main center, went to an observation point, then went on a little hike before heading to dinner.

Day 2: Beaverton Farmer’s Market then Kennedy School McMenamins and then Mississippi Street Fair. We were quite tired after this…

Day 3: Portland Chinese Garden, Chinese Restaurant, and then head to the coast!

We rented a house for the week in Netarts – lovely place with many destination places we were able to travel to. Family went on adventures for three days while I went to attend an inspiring, amazing, organized, wonderful writer’s workshop every day.

They went on daily adventures all around the Oregon coast and had quite a fun time. I had the bonus of dinner time each evening with them.

We flew my mother-in-law into Portland mid-week so that she could catch up with my husband and son while I had a children’s writers workshop. They also adventured around the coast a little bit. More about the workshop another week! Family and friend time has been special!
