In my opinion, books are the best accessory.
”Pull up a chair, it’s a Saturday Book Share”.
My First Animalia by Graeme Base – I loved exploring this new adaptation of the beautiful book Animalia. I have had the app for this book for a few years but I really think this adjusted publication is quite well done. I appreciate that I can now introduce my young students to the world of Graeme Base and have a book that not only has the simplified alphabet and fun seek and find layer of the book but also the gorgeous alliterative alphabed from the original Animalia book.
I can see how this book would be especially entertaining for parents to share with their children. They can read aloud the powerful, beautiful language and at the same time have fun with the searching aspect. Honestly, I was humbled by my son’s quick searching skills when locating the hidden objects. I do think that Graeme Base is quite brilliant and I’m also happy to introduce the students who enjoy this book to his other books in the library. I think I’ll be featuring seek-and-find books from Where’s Wally to I-Spy to Spot 8 in a special library display soon, shall include Graeme Base’s creations as well!
About Pull up a chair, it’s a Saturday Book Share: I’ve had many books I review that I just want to feature. Simple and easy, celebrate a new book encounter. So that’s what Saturday Book Share is about for me, celebrating books! Perhaps some days I’ll share the book with a short reading of a portion. Or perhaps other days I’ll just share a glimpse of the book.
