The Styling Librarian

In my opinion, books are the best accessory.

Styling Librarian: Book Review Platypus Police Squad

BOOK GIVEAWAY TIME!! Are you ready?  Who would like to win a signed/personalized copy of Jarrett Krosoczka’s new book: Platypus Police Squad – The Frog Who Croaked, book 1 by Jarrett Krosoczka? There’s a release of original pictures from Jarrett J. Krosoczka at the bottom of this post along with an accompanying book giveaway entry form!

My Review: I found this to be quite a well done mystery. Can’t wait to see the book with completed illustrations. The character introduction was entertaining since the platypus Detective Rick Zengo is quite a confident little creature. I loved how he and his new partner were the perfect odd couple getting to know one another. Also, I appreciated how the egos of the other characters over road their ability to help solve crimes. Also I found the mystery of illegal fish and missing teacher quite fantastic and appreciated how the library figured into everything. I highly recommend this book, cannot wait to hand to my students. Jarrett’s Lunch Lady books fly off the shelf at my school, even with no cafeteria at my school.

Goodreads Summary: “From the Files of the Platypus Police Squad – Case #1138 Detectives of record: Rick Zengo and Corey O’Malley
Case brief: A local schoolteacher is missing, and the only thing fishier than the circumstances surrounding his disappearance is the smell coming from the bag he left behind. All clues point to billionaire businessman Frank Pandini Jr.–but why would Pandini get his paws into the illegal fish trade?”

Excellent free Platypus Police Squad resource packet:

This looks like just the ticket for a new fun mystery title.

Our library is thinking about starting a MG reading club this summer and this sounds like it might be just the book we’ve been looking for to get it started. I especially like the resource packet. Thanks for the link.
