In my opinion, books are the best accessory.
Hello all, here’s the Hong Kong update… So, I reflected on the week and for a little while I could barely remember being adventuresome at all, then I opened my iPhone and was thrilled to remember all the adventures I had when I wasn’t fighting off the flu bug that has whalloped me for a second time. During the past week when I was recovering from an exciting conference that I promise someday I’ll write my reflections on, I decided to wander through some malls. Not my normal thing to do but I figured it certainly was a great way to distract my mind. (I additionally was listening to some terrific podcasts, more to come on podcasts in another post as well!)
I was really impressed with decorations that were still being put up all over the place to celebrate Chinese New Year that’s coming in another week. Experiencing it is going to be a beautiful feast for the eyes.
I was told by a few friends that there are some terrific sales before Chinese New Year begins, so I thought I’d check out various shops. I wasn’t very successful but was quite entertained by what was being sold in some places and how things were displayed in others. I found a few sweaters, which I honestly didn’t realize I’d need here in Hong Kong- climate surprise! And I didn’t purchase much else. Although I enjoyed taking pictures outside of Forever 21 which is enormous, 4 stories tall, I did not particularly enjoy wandering through the place. A friend told me, “it is because you aren’t 18 anymore.” Sigh. Haven’t been 18 in a LONG time but used to appreciate clothes like what they were selling… I also find that vending machines that sell clothes are fascinating.
So, without further ado, here are some random pictures from my walking around various areas of Hong Kong from Central to Admiralty to Causeway Bay.
I also recorded a quick library video for the week, included a few new additions to the library for those who are interested/curious. I finally finished off our early chapter book bin purchasing. Heavy load to carry around, must say, even with a taxi driving me up to the door of my apartment and school. Thought I’d pop in pictures of those for documenting as well.
Wishing all a fantastic week.
