In my opinion, books are the best accessory.
For today: Advertising Focus: I appreciate my twitter and Facebook friend David Etkin’s (@davidaetkin ) Whatever Wednesday meme. It is fun to reflect on one thing each week that really catches my attention, entertains me, and is special enough I just have to share it with the world.
Here’s my Whatever Wednesday Randomness:
I decided to focus on advertisements that made a load of children laugh and also reflect on media and advertising around a month ago. Students discussed how advertisers promote nature loving items they’re selling, babies benefiting from items, and other items making even a mouse strong… I personally think that if children are aware/savvy to media messages through advertisements that parents can follow up on this knowledge with discussions as children need them…
Movies (advertisements) I was inspired by this past week: (Chatted with my son about the message for each of these… I’m quoting what he thinks):
Mousetrap Survivor Cheese Commercial: – message “that brand of cheese makes you super strong, even mice” – I personally adore The Carpenters, so was quite excited to hear the beginning song!
Coca Cola Nature Commercial: – message “very tasty that even nature wants Coca Cola”
Evian Water Advertisement- Roller Skating Babies: – message “that you’ll live young if you drink Evian”
