Visiting Bookazine
I meant to blog about visiting this fantastic bookstore a few weeks ago but have been quite distracted, so here it goes:
I visited my new favorite Hong Kong bookstore: Bookazine. I’ve enjoyed visiting many bookstores and libraries since I moved to Hong Kong. It was fun to explore many places but I kept looking for my new book home. Yes, I am a teacher librarian, I have a gorgeous, lovely library, but I honestly look for a “book home” outside of my library as well. I really love the library that is close to our apartment, but additionally, finding Bookazine was fantastic. There’s seating for little kids, the books are almost all NOT wrapped up in plastic, there’s interesting areas to explore, friendly, helpful staff who order books if not available, and a fantastic children’s selection.
Hong Kong Update:
The week has been busy… I enjoyed some delicious food, great teaching experiences, preparation for a fantastic author visit, many library management projects, adjusted gorgeous new furniture into the library entrance, and a finished, weeded non-fiction area. (My talented assistant took a picture of me right at the end of weeding- bliss- picture is at top of screen!) Now, I’m finishing off a three-day PYP, Primary Years Programme, Teacher Librarian Workshop with some inspiring educators and amazing facilitator who leads us to dig deeper and extend ourselves further. I enjoyed finding out how to create a new curation tool with Paper.Li – http://paper.li/stylinlibrarian/1352630570 – which I think will help me remember and appreciate Tweets over time.
No videos but a few pictures…
Best wishes to all for a fantastic week! Thanks so much for the follows!

NOT wrapped in plastic – made me smile. Singapore was the same way. We bought a number of books based on cover only.
🙂 Made me nutty to look at books that I couldn’t open in other stores. (But I respect that they are wrapped in some places for protection from humidity.)
