In my opinion, books are the best accessory.
Returning to reality after a vacation is always a challenge. Exhausting to be honest. I personally had that situation where my body crashed and I fought through throat/fever/cold- now wrapping up the cold (or so I think) and so I took things slightly easier this past week. I additionally experienced two training days and one sick day which led to an odd professional week. I am looking forward to five full days of work coming up, then a three day- no weekend- PYP/IB workshop for Teacher Librarians.
I was able to enjoy a few books since I had that sick day and also we didn’t explore very much. We did go to an amazing, overwhelming mall that sold way too much for my senses. (Toys, games, books, knick-knacks, etc. It was amazing!– Hong Kong friends, think you might enjoy if you haven’t been there- in Fortress Hill.) My favorite part of the mall was the local vendor area, felt like going to an amazing craft sale. I mentally shopped for many items and was very impressed with the creativity displayed there. One of my favorite items was a mini-book necklace that you could actually write in and the other was a small pencil case made of a paper bag that had fabric corners. Love that local artists have a place to share their items. — I wasn’t allowed to take pictures in the store, sigh.
We did enjoy Hong Kong trick-or-treating first just in our apartment but then also at a lovely educator’s apartment complex tagging along with her family. Quite a fun time experiencing the walk down each level of two apartment buildings and visiting various generous neighbors.
Have I made enough of a big deal about assigned seats in movie theaters? I’ve seen such a shift in myself since adjusting to this concept. Extremely lovely to be peacefully walking in right as movie previews begin vs. rushing to claim a decent seat. Enjoyed the new James Bond movie Skyfall, long movie but entertaining!
